Important Notes
- Models with two-piece rear drive shafts will require a carrier bearing drop kit. (BDS121612)
- Requires frame bracket modification and minor welding
- Disassembly/assembly of the factory torsion bar system requires the use of a special unloading tool.
- The GM specified tool # is CH48809.
- Compatible with diesel models ONLY. Works with standard or AT4 diesel models. The use of the
coilovers on GAS
engine models is not
recommended due to
providing too much lift.
Available preload
adjustment is typically
not enough to achieve
desired ride height.
- Some minor trim will be required with certain wheel/tire combination. This is normal with most aftermarket tire/wheel fitment on Chevy/GM trucks. Trimming will normally include the bottom edge of the inner fender shrouds and/or lower corner of front bumper valance. As a rule of thumb, deeper backspacing and shorter/narrower tires will reduce/eliminate trimming required. Further trimming tips are included at the end of this instruction sheet.
- Dually Models will require
aftermarket 20" wheels with a
max tire size of 285/60/20.
- Factory 17”, 18” and 20” wheels cannot be reinstalled due to upper control arm clearance.
- Coilover coil has a large amount of preload, a coil spring compressor must be used to remove the coil from the coilover. Failure to use a coil spring compressor may result in death or injury.
- Do NOT increase coilover preload.
- For replacement ball joints use service kit BDS081203. Ball joints are directional and must be installed with the ‘dot’ facing either inward or outward on the vehicle, otherwise damage may occur.
- Increase of 1” of track width per side (2” overall) is done to create a better travel range of the suspension to allow more droop travel from ride height along width helping the coilover clear the frame components.

BDS is a game changer in the performance of your 2020+ Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 / 3500 HD truck with a 3-inch suspension lift kit with FOX 2.5 Performance Elite Coil-Over
conversion. Designed to improve stance, performance, and capability, this kit includes everything necessary to set your truck up right with clearance for up to 35" tires. These kits feature proprietary
FOX 2.5 Performance Elite coil-over shocks designed specifically to bolt-on performance for increased travel and the ability to soak up the roughest terrain along with smooth on-road comfort.
In addition to replacing the factory torsion bars, the upper and lower control arms are upgraded to improve strength, travel, and accommodate the new coil-overs. The new upper control arms are
fabricated from large 1.5" OD x .120-wall tubing, fully TIG welded for the highest quality, strength and durability. To compliment the uppers, the new lower control arms are built from high strength
steel, fully boxed with internally gusseted.
This kit takes principles on BDS's engineering standard for improved ground clearance, strength, and offroad protection while correcting suspension and steering geometry for great on-road handling
characteristics. Up front, the kit utilizes FOX 2.5 coil-over shocks, heavy duty tubular upper control arms, fully boxed and gusseted lower control arms, and multipiece differential relocation brackets
to maintain correct CV angles. These combined with the provided sway bar links, supplied hardware and more provide a comprehensive front suspension lift ready for whatever you throw at it.
In the rear BDS offers replacement lift blocks to lift and level that stance. The lift block installs in place of the stock block and retains ride quality and load capacity. Also for the rear is a u-bolt flip kit
for max clearance and precision tuned FOX 2.0 Performance Series or Performance Elite Series 2.5” shocks for ultimate off road performance.
FOX 2.5 Performance Elite Coil-Overs
FOX Performance Elite 2.5 coil-overs offer next level performance for on-road comfort and off-road comfort capability. Tuned and ready to install right out of the box, these bolt-on 2.5-inch diameter
coil-overs are built for abuse and packed with race-proven technology. They include a remote reservoir for additional fluid capacity to keep your shocks running cool so you can push the limits in the
rough terrain.
DSC Adjustment
FOX Performance Elite 2.5 coil-overs come standard with DSC (dual speed compression) adjustment to tune the high-speed and low-speed compression damping allowing for added control on-road
with the ability to easily dial in more aggressive damping offroad. Tuning is a simple twist of the two clearly defined knobs with immediate feedback to dial it in for any terrain.
HD Control Arms
Built for strength, performance and increased travel, these control arms are ready to bolt-in. The upper arms use 1.5" OD x .120-wall tubular construction with an indexed ball joint cup to correct the
ball joint positioning allowing additional down travel and camber adjustment. The new lower control arms are built from high strength steel, fully boxed with internally gusseted. At the frame mounting
ends are durometer-specific rubber bushings for maintenance-free operation while at the other end a quality greaseable ball joints for smooth, quiet operation and superior durability. Arms are
finished in a durable black powder coat with a billet aluminum dust cap ready for installation right out of the box.
